When developing the EFA-SFT® THERM, the focus was on achieving a level of thermal insulation to fit the times in conjunction with thermally separated elements. All assemblies are combined in an elaborate manner so that there are hardly any cold bridges. For example, the leaf cases are made of roll-formed, thermally separated steel profiles, and between the inner and outer cover profiles, a continuous “isolator” made of GRP is used. The extremely good corrosion protection of these profiles is provided as standard with a zinc-plated and an additional coating (powder-coated or painted).
The highly-insulated door leaf consists of a frame which is made of thermally-insulated steel sheet profiles and 40-mm-thick EFA-THERM® laths. Thanks to the series-standard thermally-isolated EFA-THERM® laths, a level of thermal insulation has been achieved that had never previously been achieved for folding doors. Specially developed for outdoor applications and due to its excellent thermal insulation, the EFA-SFT® THERM meets the high requirements for energy-efficient construction. It can be integrated both into existing buildings, e.g. during energy refurbishment, and into new industrial buildings. Triple glazing can be selected as an option for the door filling and, thanks to the new holding rail in the door leaf the filling can be swapped out quickly and easily.
The new EFA-SFT® THERM uses only particularly silently running and precisely controllable 3-phase asynchronous motors with bevel-helical gear units. The power depends on door size and/or wing weight, the speed is situationally controlled by a frequency converter integrated into the EFA-TRONIC® control cabinet. The position detection by incremental encoders is almost maintenance-free.
