The EFA-SST® EX is designed for both outdoor and indoor use in potentially explosive atmospheres. In addition to high opening and closing speeds, it particularly impresses with a solid door leaf with high wind resistance and optimal sealing. The door leaf consists of double-walled aluminium laths that be combined with transparent laths.
It is also possible to have the door leaf composed entirely of transparent laths. Due to the no-contact support of the laths in the spiral and the associated wear-free movement, their transparency is guaranteed for many years.
EX-series high-speed door systems are particularly designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU. All electrical equipment is included in a list of equipment, stating the explosion protection properties and the IEC certificate number, which is handed over to the customer together with the door documentation. Mechanical explosion protection is implemented according to the requirements of the explosion protection zone.
The EFA- SST® EX has been specially developed in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU for use in hazardous areas for Zone 1 (II 2G Ex IIB T4 Gb), Zone 2 (II 3G Ex IIB T4 Gc), Zone 21 (II 2D IIIB 135°C X Db) and Zone 22 (II 3D IIIB 135°C X Dc). The control cabinet must be installed outside the EX zone!
The smooth door leaf consists of double-walled, anodised aluminium laths with large material thickness in the best quality for the 151-mm division version; for the 225-mm division version it consists of single-walled aluminium laths.
Depending on the desired incidence of light, we can integrate any number of EFA-CLEAR® transparent laths made of acrylic glass (optionally “break-proof” polycarbonate). As a further variant of the door leaf design, ventilation laths can be used to ensure defined air exchange. The colour design of the door leaf can be realised in almost any RAL colour according to individual requirements. In addition, EFAFLEX offers high-speed spiral doors from the EX series in the standard variant with circular round spiral as well as in the oval spiral variant, which we recommend for confined spaces.
The EFAFLEX spiral does not wind the door blade onto a shaft, but keeps it at a distance to save space. This design optimally combines highest opening speeds, durability and effectiveness. Thanks to the spiral, the doors run quietly with no wear and look like new for years to come.
